Interview: Tiago is a whole new kind of cool

Tiago has that kind of style and charisma that fills the space. We've met up with him on a Friday afternoon at LAND. We've talked about everything, from music to books and even Reddit. The conversations with him come very easily.

Tell me about the book you’re reading now.

I just finished rereading Dune Messiah, the second book in the Dune series, my favorite series of all time. I’m reading everything again! It’s insane just thinking how much insight and study went into Frank Herbert’s masterpiece. Truly a work to admire, bridging several topics, from planetary ecology (a completely foreign concept at the time the first book was published in 1965) to theology, politics, warfare, philosophy, romance, and even genetics.

I believe he just wanted to project humanity as far away into space and time as he could.

It changed my perspective and made me a better person.

What’s your biggest obsession?

Hahahahah, since I love so many things it’s hard to pin them all down. But the current one is definitely Magic: The Gathering. I’ve come out of a 7-year hiatus, and now I’m back to competing!

If you could have one superpower what would it be?

I’ve always thought that if I could have a superpower it would have to be: being able to control hair! Make it grow on any surface, recede, thicken. Full control. And I have some theories on how to beat every other power with it!

Tell me about your experience at The Feeting Room.

To be honest, The Feeting Room became a place I can feel at home. I am proud to say that I work with an amazing group of people. It has been the most enriching work experience I ever had in the retail business! Through sheer dedication and sensibility, we were able to put together these beautiful stores and populate them with our wonderful staff!

Plans for the weekend?

Well, I want to go to a tournament on Saturday, aaaand I’m planning on doing some hard-core chillin’ with my beautiful baby girl and taking her out for dinner and a movie.
